To understand and grasp the ways and characteristics of admission work in the world highly-selective universities is both an important topic of the international comparison on talent and gifted education and the requirement of improving the quality of higher education in the Guidelines of the National Program for Medium-and Long-Term Educational Reform and Development for (2010-2020). The paper is a monographic study on the undergraduate admission influential factors of the "Ivy league" by the theories and methods of comparative education. It discusses the admissions ways, policies, the composition of admission influential factors and its characteristics based on the domestic and foreign literature review.This article is divided into five parts. As an introduction the first part puts forward the problems, research methods and the literature review. The design of study is also included. The second part is a survey of the undergraduate admission work in the Ivy League which includes the admission institution, the admission work procedures and the admission policies. The third part discusses the undergraduate admission influential factors of the Ivy League through the research on the submitted application materials. The admission influential factors can be divided into four kinds, which are the top factors, tip factors, tip non-academic factors and the factors beyond a student's control. The formation of these admission influential factors are influenced by many factors, one is about the social history, including the history of Ivy League and the test history. The second is the change of the concept on talent education in the Ivy League, which is the change from the family privilege to the merits admission. In addition, the influence of the multiculturalism, Multiple Intelligence theory and the effective connection between American high schools and universities are also involved. The fourth part studies the changing trends of admission factors based on the summary of its characteristics. The undergraduate admission influential factors of Ivy League are comprehensive, diversified, and dynamic. At the beginning the standardized test is overwhelmingly dominant, then its influence is weakened and the admission offices pay more attention to the nonacademic achievements. The fifth part is the conclusion and enlightenment. The Ivy League is not an admission union. Its eight member schools have not any forms of alliance in the administrative management, institutional framework and the admission work. And that there are not unified admission exam, admissions standards and extra exams. It is actually reversed that the Recruitment alliance of today's China follows the example of Ivy League. But the independent admission can consult the Ivy League autonomous enrolment in the formulation of selection standards and the improvement of selective ways. In conclusion, the paper puts forward three possible follow-up studies.
