The Universities'theological and political theory course as the main channel about undergraduates'ideological and political education undertakes the important task to implement systematic Theory of Marxism education for undergraduates, and which plays an irreplaceable role in the process of construction of Socialism with Chinese characteristics enterprise. In the new situation, how to improve the teaching effectiveness on the ideological and political theory course is the problem to be solved for the ideological and political workers.In this paper, the basic thought is: firstly the status quo,investigative meaning, content and method of this project is pointed out. Secondly the meaning and characteristics of teaching effectiveness concerning the ideological and political theory course is summarized. Moreover, from the following two aspects: the satisfaction regarding the current situation of teaching and the college students' expectation on the teaching effect of the ideological and political theory course, the investigative results with respect to the teaching effectiveness of the ideological and political theory course are analyzed. And then the main factors influences on teaching effectiveness of ideological and political theory course are summarized by deeply studying the investigative status quo. These factors are as follows: The effects from negative factors in the social environment make some undergraduates have not high awareness concerning ideological and political theory course; the limitations from ideological and political theory course's characteristics make the teaching material of ideological and political theory course become strait-laced indoctrination rather than relating students'practical situation; single teaching mode and methods and low student satisfaction; monotonous, ineffective and lack of scientific teaching evaluation methods. Finally the countermeasures on improving the teaching effectiveness of universities'ideological and political theory course are proposed tentatively, mainly including: perfect teaching materials and compile high quality teaching and auxiliary material of ideological and political theory course; pay an attention to the material environment construction, give full play to the environmental advantages; innovate methods, enhance students' interest; put emphasis on practical teaching; reform assessment system and establish the scientific evaluation mechanism.
