The purpose of education is the starting point and destination of the education activities, which plays a guiding role in the establishment of the education system, the selection of education content, and organization of the whole process of education. After determining the purpose of education, the education activities can be organized into the right way orderly. The purpose of education plays a very important role in the healthy development of the education career.With the social development, the purpose of education changes, which has a portrait of class and times. Different times have different education purpose. The theory of human nature is a basis for establishing the purpose of education, but person is direct basis. After establishing the nation, the theory of human nature about the purpose of education in our country is based on the individual's all-round development of Marxist theory, on this basis, the purpose guides the education activities.Since the founding of the country, what kind of people we should cultivate is unclear.There were some typical formulation, for example, "workers", "talent" "builders", "successor", "citizens" and "person". On the surface, there are different orientations about the learners. It's not just a simple terms, but it's the problem of the education value. Marxist theory on the individual's all-round development provides a theoretical basis for establishing the purpose of education, but there are a lot of bias and limitation on the understanding of it. The understanding of "person" is not full and comprehensive, leading to the education practice dislocated. From the founding of our country to the end of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, there have been a tendency of paranoid doctrinairism to understand the theory of human nature. We made the leftist mistakes, resulting in a dogmatic theory of human nature. On this basis, education practice walked along with the over-emphasis on collective and ignoring the individual. In the process of criticizing the "left", because the purpose of education in China is not based on correct understanding of human nature,and it gradually moves toward the extreme of abstract human nature and from the extreme neglecting of personal attention to the extreme individuals and ignores the community.In this process, the theoretical basis of education purpose has not changed,which has been always upholding the Marxist view of human nature and has been based on the individual's all-round development of Marxist theory. But in fact, because of the bias of the understanding of the Marxism view on human nature, different people have different opinions.On the whole, the understanding on the basis of the theory of human nature experienced a process from the extreme to the excessive emphasis on individual centers and the abstract humane education. Education theory and practice in our country has taken a long way,and there are a lot of questions we need to think. Therefore, we should learn from the history, combined with the reality of the state and society, and find the right view of education purpose. We should have a correct view of our past whether it is right or wrong through sorting out and analyzing the changing of the purpose of education, and foster a correct view of human nature by reflection. We should uphold the Marxist dialectical view of human nature and the individual's all-round development of theory in order to promote the healthy development of education in China.
