Student concept is the teachers'thought about students' essential attribute, their position and role in the education process. It is one of the most important educational concepts, which impacts directly on education aims, methods, and results. Theories of human nature and different ideas imperceptibly affect teachers'outlook on students, thus they leaves a deep imprint in the process of educational practice. In the realistic activities of education, teachers have multiple different misunderstandings about the nature of students, caused by the deviation of teacher's thoughts on the nature of students. In order to correctly and precisely understand the nature of students, it is very necessary to re-learn and re-examine student concept in the view of human nature.In the first chapter of this paper, development of student concepts is analyzed according to the multiple theories of human nature. Three types of theories of human nature and corresponding student concepts are elaborated. They are natural theory of human nature and its relevant student concept advocated by educators such as Mencius, Xun Zi, Comenius, Rousseau, rational theory of human nature and its relevant student concept by educators such as Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Herbart, social theory of human nature and its relevant student concept by educators such as Mo Zi, Wang Fuzhi, Locke, Dewey. The relationships between the theories of human nature and their relevant student concepts are explained after the contents of the educators'human nature theories above and their influence on the student concepts are elaborated.Secondly, based on the study above, a survey on the student concepts of school teachers are made and analyzed. In order to elaborate the misunderstanding of student concepts based on the incorrect ideas of human nature, the method of case study is also adopted. The correct student concepts should be constructed on the basis of integral and monolithic perspective of human nature, which advocates that human being is a natural, social and spiritual existing, and that the student's essence is a potential and developing integrity life in itself and for itself while re-explained in the perspective of human nature. Therefore teachers should establish such a student-centered educational idea that more attention is paid on the needs of human nature and its development.At last a conclusion is made that a new concept on student nature should be rebuilt in the currently reforming education at elementary and middle schools. The teacher should recognize and respect the real human nature of students and thus try to satisfy the multiple needs of human nature of student and promote their human nature in the education activities.
