Since the Party Central Committee and the State Council made the further expand enrolment strategic decision from 1999, it is in a crucial period for China's higher education scale and the rapid growth of China's higher education reform and development.It is the historical mission responsibility for the higher school sports education to cultivate all-round talents, train students'sports skills and interests, hobbies, enhancement self-consciousness, initiative, which make them form lifetime sports finally. Our country basketball teaching also have many problems, a "Sue type" teaching method is given mainly to restrain students in the basketball learning. Therefore, how to establish scientific and reasonable basketball teaching and learning methods becomes an important research subject.By using the methods of documentation, expert interview, questionnaire survey, experimental method and mathematical statistics, this paper carefully analyzed the research situation of layer teaching, mulit-level teaching, autonomous teaching, teaching pattern and the concept of autonomous teaching mode of sports. and drew the stratified-teaching mode and teaching autonomous learning. In its application, it adhered to the principle:"main body participation, independent participation, lamination instruction, encourages primarily", used the traditional teaching methods and stratified-independent pedagogy respectively on the basis of the traditional teaching methods. According to the specific circumstances of students, Teachers differentiated among them and gave full play to its "autonomy", "independence" and "self-behavior" in accordance with their aptitude, which made them learn in the interaction, independent condition. At the end of the experiment, the significant differences of experimental results were founded between the experimental group and control group grades according to statistical analysis. Results showed that the former score was better than the latter. New teaching methods arouse students'autonomous, productive of independence and initiative in the experimental process, which does not only increase student development and social intercourse peer sociality of emotion, but also improve the basketball practice of fun and improve students'sports results.
