The guidance of quality education implementation and elementary course reformation is the pedagogy reformation that has attracted the attention of international educators since the beginning of the 21st century. comprehension pedagogy is one of the teaching methods that represent quality education and the ideology of course, which contributes to creativity of college students.Selective course of P.E. at present is one of the major teaching forms of P.E. and an important part of P.E. course reformation at general college, whose teaching methods are supposed to be diverse. The author introduces the comprehension pedagogy to the selective basketball course at general college after a series of interviews and considerable reading of documents. The comprehension pedagogy, different from the traditional teaching method that is based on teaching techniques, excites the activeness of students, arouses interests of learning, making the class dynamic and at the same time increase the effectiveness of teaching.The purpose of this paper is to improve the theory and application of C.P.. and offer an example of teaching method of selective course at general college as reference for P.E. teachers. Base on deep understanding of C.P. the experiment was done with 2 classes of undergraduate of 2004 of Jilin University who have chosen the basketball course as subjects C.P. is applied to teaching of the selective basket course and proves to be an effective teaching method, which not only establishes foundations for other courses, but also offers reference and example for P.E. selective course reformation at general college.
