As a primary analysis on the "Women's issues in Southeast Asia and ASEAN's Response", this thesis tries to explore women's problems in Southeast Asia, and responses of ASEAN to women's issues, results and problems. The paper argues that women in Southeast Asia faced the following problems:on the one hand, as historical and social causes, women in Southeast Asia faced gender discrimination in education and employment and domestic violence issues. On the other hand, with the development of globalization, women in this region also faced marginalization issues in new technologies and trafficking and prostitution in the process of cross-border flows. Because of this background, women's issues in Southeast Asia from a country's internal problem have gradually evolved into a key global issue, which will restrict human development.Because of these problems, ASEAN continually adjusted and improved its strategies, and its women's organization-the ASEAN Women's Committee has also made the corresponding strategies to deal with issues related to women. Because of their endless efforts, women's problem in Southeast Asia today have had a significant improvement, not only in their status, education, employment, domestic violence, but also in fields of new technologies, cross-border trafficking and prostitution and AIDS.
