Though a 39% increase in the rate of completion of 9-year compulsory education was found between 1994 and 2007, there are about 2 million students all over the country yearly who failed to graduate from junior high school. Having difficulties and losing interest in learning have become one of the reasons for drop-outs. Therefore, finding a way to help students out with their difficulties in learning has significant influence in consolidating and promoting the quality of basic education in China. This dissertation focuses on the design of a personalized learning solution which can find and remedy students'learning difficulties to help them reach the goal of completing the 9-year compulsory education.Recognizing the difficulties for implementing personalized learning in traditional conditions and seeking out the strengths of network-supported personalized learning, this dissertation points out the necessity and feasibility in studying and designing a personalized learning solution. Taking junior high school's mathematics as a sample and aimed to helping students in recede difficulties in learning mathematics, this dissertation design a personalized learning solution and a set of learning resources supporting the personalized learning.This dissertation explains current junior high school's curriculum standards in mathematics to expound the demand of students'personality development. An interview with math teachers and students who have difficulties in math produces positive effects on finding reasons for learning difficulties. On the basis of analyzing the knowledge system, this dissertation designs a method to realize auto-diagnosis by the connection between teaching objective and regular mistakes and design a set of digital resources to supporting personalized learning styles. Finally, an experiment is made to validate the effective of auto-diagnosis way, the feasibility of personalized learning style and the rationality of learning resources designed.
