This article attempts to summarize various theories on reading out of school, based on the theory of reading psychology, and at the same time combined with the problems found in practical operation, A number of practical and effective measures for improvement and recommendations are put forward. It will not only help to expand further the theory of teaching reading, but also help to provide teachers with practical suggestions to improve the reading ability of middle school students, and to improve their language and other courses of study, and the ability of understanding. This article is divided into five parts.The introduction comes first. The author carefully analyzes the significance and reality of the theory. It will not only help to further expand the theory of teaching reading, but also help to provide teachers with practical suggestions to improve the reading ability of middle school students, and then to improve their language and other courses of study, To achieve the research objectives, the author advocate the use of literature and empirical research methods, attempting to grasp the current research data through the collection and analysis of relevant literature as a research reference. The empirical research may be more dynamic understanding the problems of current middle school students in reading and provide some effective practical experience and the basis for the development of this study. The authors also summarize the current situation of the study through literature review.Chapter One is a summary to junior middle school supplementary reading. The author first presents the basic meaning of supplementary reading, which is theoretically one kind of readings. And then the thesis deals with the importance of supplementary reading to junior high school students'development of body and mind. It can improve the development of their intelligence and culture quality. It also can lay a basic foundation for their lifelong development. Lastly, the author analyzes feasibility of junior high school students supplementary reading, because it meets the inflexible needs of new standard curriculum and the rules of junior high school students'development of body and mind.Chapter Two analyzes the current situation of conducting and guiding junior high school students supplementary reading. The author presents general methods in which teachers arrange and guide students to supplementary read. Teachers teach students some reading ways and arrange reading tasks to help them read actively. In addition, education administration standard papers are made in principle. Through research, some results can be gained:the current methods have flaws, such as the education administration standard papers are not concrete, teachers are not good at conducting and guiding students to read, and so on.Chapter Three concerns the analysis about specific cases of "study passport" carried out in Hua Yang foreign language school. The thesis first deals with the theoretical study and topic of study passport. It also presents the ways to carry out it. Through questionnaire, interview and literature research, the author summarizes total reaction of teachers and students to conduct study passport. Through research, some results can be gained:teachers should renew teaching concept; parents should keep a watchful eye on children; we need to make our work perfect.Chapter four is about how to better organize and guide the junior high school students to read. Through the above study, the authors believe that if we want to better organize and direct junior high school students to, read, we should strengthen the planning and construction of the curriculum,develop further the curriculum resources, improve the recommended reading books; innovative quality evaluation system of students to realize the modernization of the concept evaluation, evaluation of the main diversification, evaluation criteria of flexibility and diversity of evaluation methods; explore new junior high school students to organize and guide reading, encourage students to read indecently and carry out a variety of extra-curricular reading activity; And teachers should also effectively guide the students to read, combining the reading on the class with the reading after class.
