As Japan speeds up the process of globalization in higher education, Japanese government has been re-adjusting student policy to promote fields in people, goods, capital and the international flow of information between Asia and the world. Combined with Japanese conditions, they have constantly reformed and improved variety of support policies in student support system from the national perspective of a global strategy. Japan is doing their best to provide necessary assistance to international students in cross-cultural adaptation in the fields of economic, life and study.The research objects of this study are international students from Yokohama National University. Firstly, this study tries to find correlation between support system and cross-cultural adaptation, and then explores further information of support system and analysis of its significance. In addition, based on the analysis above, this study uses multiple regression effects due to cross-cultural adaptation and sorts specific factors.Main findings of this study are as follows:Firstly, correlation between student support system and cross-cultural adaptation is positive. It turns out to be intensity with the approximate linear relationship. Namely, international students'ability of cross-cultural adaptation could be positively affected by supporting efforts. Secondly, with the efforts of student support, cross-cultural adaptation could be predicted with error being reduced by 53.58%. Thirdly, according to multiple regression analysis, cross-cultural adaptation of students is mostly being affected by the five factors as following:scholarship system, tutor system, orientation for new arriving students, curriculum of Japanese culture/Japan Overview, student counseling Room 105 in international Student Center.According to empirical analysis, this study tries to analyze the specific factors of the five areas as above, such as "how do the five factors affect cross-cultural adaptation process", "Are there problems existing in the support system for international students", "how to solve the existing problems and improve these issues" "What could we Chinese government and universities learn from this improvement in Japan's international student support system". With the situation of China, this study points out some suggestions in order to support international students'smooth adaptation in cross-cultural environment. Firstly, great efforts should be put on student's support system from the national development strategy. Secondly, quality improvement should be taken seriously while expanding the scale of international students at the same time. Thirdly, improvement of international student support system in higher education should continuously being promoted with the creation of a supportive environment. Finally, wide support from community is inseparable in improving international student support system.
