As one of the important ways in high schools ideological and political education, encouraging education was wildly used in this area, which has been played an important role in the development of thought and morality quality of students. However, this use of this method is far from satisfaction in rural schools, with many problems in it. Thus, how we use this method to improving students' ideological and political education efficiently has become an important and useful topic in high schools ideological and political education. Based on the reality of the rural high schools, we will have a discussion on this topic by this thesis.The thesis is divided into three parts:in the first part, we explain the main idea of encouraging education, and its meaning, as well as the significance of the encouraging education to the growing of the students; the author also found that it can meet the need of students to improve their self-awareness, and it can also stimulate the subjective initiative of students, arousing their activeness of self-education; meanwhile, the encouraging education also can arouse the morality and a sense of social responsibility,improving their thought and morality quality. In the second part, the author analyzes the existing problems and the reasons of encouraging education in rural high schools.Based one some reference documents'studying and the social survey, this thesis makes a conclusion of the problems existing in the encouraging education in rural high schools. The questions are as follow:1.the ideas of encouraging educators are antiquate; 2.the activities are lack of targets; 3. encouraging education is lack of time effect; 4. the feedback of the encouraging educating always gets few responds; 5. the long-term efficient system hasn't been formed; 6. the atmosphere of encouraging educating in campuses is not strong enough. The reasons are various, and the main ones are listed as follow:1,the process of economic transition brings along negative influence on the encouraging education in rural high schools; 2. students'school-weariness and tiredness of teaching impedes the encouraging education; 3. the teachers are deficient in the quality and capability of using the encouraging skills; 4. social environment factors exert a passive influence on the encouraging education; 5. negative factors in family education has negative effect on encouraging education; 6.there is no enough research in the theory of encouraging education. In the third part, the countermeasures were provided as follow: 1. people should build up positive concept of encouragement; 2. the reasonable encouraging system should be built; 3.the quality of the teachers is supposed to be improved in all round aspects; 4. people should try their best to create a favorable atmosphere of encouraging; 5. the principles of encouragement should be clarified and the methods of encouraging must be used in a proper ways; 6.stress the art of encouraging.
