College students' evaluation of teaching about public elective course is a way of teaching assessment widely used by universities which is focus on students who are the mains to assess the teaching. university students' evaluation of teaching about public elective courseWhich is organized by relevant departments of universities and is a value judgments for Students on teaching content, methods, classroom organization, teacher-student relationship, and many other acts. develops evaluation criteria for student groups, especially on the teachers of the public elective assessed teaching.Nowadays there're so many researches on Student Evaluation of Teaching at home and abroad, many researchers focus on college teaching. However, make a general survey of researches at home and abroad on student evaluation of teaching, they are not only too generalized, but also lack of studies on evaluation of teaching of public elective courses which are such special type of Teacher teaching. Evaluation of Teaching by students is just used as a method of teaching evaluation, but not studied by the numbers.The aim of this study is to analyze current problems of the process of teaching evaluation in colleges and universities,to investigate the students the demand, attitudes and intentions, for the process of teaching evaluation. And then presented strategies for student to evaluate the public and elective college teaching to provide practical guidance of university teacher evaluation.Main methods used are literature review, questionnaires and interviews.College and university students literature review summarize the characters of the college and university students such as enhanced autonomy in learning, highlighting the spirit of independence in behavior, psychological mature and so on. Using qualitative and quantitative research methods to prove that not only college and university students can act as independent subject to judge the value of the teachers teaching, but also teaching evaluation results and the results of the panel of experts have the consistency of Teaching Evaluation, which fully proves the teaching evaluation is practical and effective. Summarize three new notions of evaluation of teaching that are as follows: firstly, change the evaluation which is focus on incentive rewards and punishments into assessment and development evaluation of the combination.Secondly, change the quantitative evaluation into quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the combination. Thirdly, Change a main subject of evaluation into a combination of multiple subjects of evaluation as the theoretically support for the teaching evaluation.Through analyzing the existing domestic and foreign relevant literature and the interview college teachers of Universities public elective courses and college students concluded that the College students to teachers' teaching evaluation has the following problems, the school has poor oversight on students' evaluation of teaching behavior, the teachers have defensiveness with it, Students' evaluation of teaching has subjective tendentiousness and optional line. Analyzing the main reason is that the school has higher running concept bias. College management has separation on activities administration and teaching, college students have lack target to the character of universities public elective courses and have Utilitarianism thought.In order to understand the college teaching assessment needs, through of questionnaires to Hebei provincial college students, we concluded that in the commentary subject dimension, the more general students support that the assessment of teaching should be by students and have multiple subjects; In the methods and organizational form dimensions, college students hoped have multiple ways on the assessment, more than half of the students said that it's necessary to begin teaching evaluation activity in term of the semester, in addition, many students suggested that school of relevant management department also must organize the teaching assessment activities, in the evaluating standard and contents dimensions, the standards should be made up by students, school administrators and professors. The students think that the results should be show in a way of with scoring and comments. It is important to stress that teaching evaluation is to play to guide and incentive functions. By t-test and chi-square test results show that the music art and sports students attach more importance to teacher's personal growth. The admitted students pay more attention to improve teaching quality by teaching assessment of elective courses. The girl students support for the multiple evaluation. The evaluation standard of student cadres is higher than the non-student cadres'. In gender, grade, professional, served the post of student cadre situation aspects, the way of teaching assessment results feedback are obvious differences. The girl are more positive for teaching evaluation result feedback, more science and engineering students and arts students emphasized the guidance of teaching assessment, liberal students pay more attention to the incentive functions.To promote college students' evaluation of elective courses teaching, this thesis puts forward the following suggestions: firstly, clear the status of elective courses and establish competition mechanism of elective course; strengthen propaganda and guiding to teachers and students before the teaching assessment; establish stable long-term assessment institutions which equipped with assessment experts. Secondly, strengthen supervision of teaching assessment process, set up comprehensive and targeted contents of teaching evaluation; combine methods of teaching assessment of quantity score as well as quality valuation; change teaching assessment from one time to many times. Finally, count and analyze the results scientifically after teaching assessment; put forward timely statistical feedback; use the results of teaching assessment reasonably.
