Football is a main course in universities'physical education major. As for the training objectives of physical education major, its graduates are facing the opportunity to become physical education teachers or tutors. With the idea of "Quality Education", "Health education"and further implement of the National Fitness Program, the healthy concept of living is becoming more and more important for the normal people. As the traditional exercise, football game will be re-loved by people. This game will play an increasingly important role in all level of schools and basic sports activities. Based on the investigation on football course at the Universities in Hebei Province and with the purpose of improvement to the level of it , this essay has the following conclusions1.The targets of football course in physical education major of universities in Hebei Province: mainly to improve the level of student's psychological and cultural attainment, and by proper teaching to high school students , they can carry out football teaching and training in all levels of schools. They can also organize or judge the football matches. But there are fewer requirements for "various capacity-building" and "lifelong education", "entertainment education".2.The time and core content of football course at universities in Hebei Province: The time is similar. All the universities being investigated always arrange it in the semester 5-8. There are more teaching hours in old brand institutions. But for some universities that are just promote to undergraduate level, this time is short. The teaching is mainly technical course based, and less theoretical course. The arrangements of the training course tend to teach the competitive education, comprehensive education and capacity of education but they have neglected of happiness education, physical education and life long education.3.The contents and reasonability of football course in physical education major at universities in Hebei Province: The contents mostly are copies of past years and are quite old. The improvement of professional knowledge changes slow and cannot keep up with the pace of football development; the contents setting are more reasonable but there is some lack in the theoretical education.4.Teachers levels of football course in physical education major at universities in Hebei Province: Mostly are young teachers. They have brought energy to the classroom teaching; the portion of teachers with high qualification and levels is reasonable, but some of which need to improve their teaching levels to high development by having some courses.5.The teaching methods and testing modes in football course at universities in Hebei Province: They are quite traditional. The test is simple and focuses on the basic knowledge, technology and attendance but lack the evaluation of students'overall abilities.6.Facilities and teaching materials: The facilities can meet the basic requirements but some universities'facilities are not good in condition and need to be improved. There are no specific selections of teaching materials. The materials for professional course and compulsory always mix together which is not good for students'study. Based on the above issues raised, I hereby make these few suggestions1.The students who study football course in physical education major must not only develop their teaching abilities, technical and tactical proficiency, should also strengthen awareness of lifelong physical exercise training so that to make football to a media for students life-long practices. And through this students can be good models to exercisers in the areas of education, teaching and practicing.2.We should both focus theories teaching and technology teaching. We should also increase the teaching hours for professional lessons according to the teaching contents so as to keep the quality of teaching. We need correct concentration of teaching ideas and change the situation that mainly in competitions but not in joining. We should bring happiness and physical education into the football courses so as to make the joiners have more passion to do the physical exercises and enjoy it.3.According to the specific circumstances at universities in Hebei Province we suggest the provincial authorities organize some experts to write football training course material or universities themselves to write their own football course materials, increase the theory teaching and add new change to the professional knowledge in time and keep track of the football game development so as to meet the development of teaching needs.4.Through introduction some highly educated experts in football area and improvement the structure of academic qualifications and titles in our football teacher team we can increase the overall teaching and research levels and we can increase the overall levels of football course in physical education levels.5.We need continue to improve teaching methods so as to make it more various and flexible. We need increase the evaluation to students overall abilities so as to increase the positive and creativity.6.We need increase the investment of capitals and improve the condition of football fields and facilities so as continue to provide a better environment for teachers and students.
