Study On The Concept Of Fertility Of The Floating People

The floating population is the spark plug into the city and the driving force of the modern .The reproduction of the floating population is a serious challenge for the current family planning management and family planning policy. Therefore, it is important to attention to the floating population's childbirth problems for stabling low fertility level and promoting the sustainable development.After the flowing process the rural population's concept and behavior will certainly be baptisted by modern civilization. Reflected in the fertility is the concept will changed firstly which will directly guide people's reproductive behavior. Therefore, to explore the concept of the floating population is the concept of stabilizing low fertility level and maintaining the results of the family planning in China.This research adopts empirical research methods, investigates and collects first-hand information through questionnaire.In this research floating population will be divided into three groups and the concept of fertility will be operationed into five sides:the number of children,sex preference,fertility purposes,birth time and birth quality expectations.The research shows that there are differences in the groups of the floating population about the concept of fertility which is manifested in the sex preference and the fertility purposes.The differences as following the elder the more male preference and the more utilitarian purposes.In the part of differences analys this research adopts the theory of social intergration which is an effective theoretical tool to explain the problem of the floating population.Essentially,migrant into city is a process of social intergration.After the migrantion the floating population will experience the economic adaptation, cultural adaptation and psychological identity. Therefore,the level of social intergration is an important factor which effects the concept of fertility of the floating population.The research found that the floating population aged 30 and below are well adopt to the city life.The degree of the social intergration is highiest. They will consciously accept the urban culture, values, and will take urban cultural values to guide their behavior actively. This interpretation shows the reasons for the differences well.The innovation of this study is not only examine the whole concept of the fertility, but also made a comparative study further investigated the differences between the floating population. It is a more realistic perspective which can more accurately reflect the concept of floating population . In addtion, this study illustrates the differences of the concept of fertility by the theory of social integration. The similai study is still rare.
