The evolution and modification of the definition of learning difficulties and the progress of the learning difficulties' research have been reviewed in this paper. Learning difficulties' definition experienced five major revisions to this day. The learning difficulties' study course abroad can be divided into:based period,transfer period, integrate period and contemporary period. The learning difficulties'study course domestically can be divided into:development period,based period and qualitative period.The classification of the learning difficulties'types by foreign researchers was represented by Kirk and Mckinney's classification, while the classification of the learning difficulties'types by domestic researchers was represented by Shaowen Liu,Jing Sun,Yunying Chen,Shuzhe Zhang,Zengqiang Wu and Yuqing Zhang's studies, respectively, they put forward different learning difficulties'types according to their own studies. The diagnostic criteria of learning difficulties can be mainly divided into two kinds:study achievement criteria and scale diagnostic criteria.The influence factors of learning difficulties mainly include: physiological factors,intellectual and non-intellectual factors and the environmental factors. Researchers also carried out plenty of empirical researches about learning difficulties is such areas:memory,information processing speed,meta-cognition,attention deficit,behavioral problem and social cognition.This paper also review the research history of interventions, classification and trends, summarizes the insufficiencies of previous studies, forecast and prospect the future researches of learning difficulties.The existing interventions mainly include pedagogic interventions,psychological interventions and comprehensive interventions. And comprehensive interventions are the focus of today's researches and the trend of future researches.This paper points out the deficiencies of previous research:(1) learning difficulties lacks a unified, convincing define standard, and it's definition also lacks operability; A number of existing researches had discussed the influence factors about learning difficulties, but there is no certain causal link between these factors and learning difficulties; If there is a causal link, how do these factors lead to learning difficulties. (2) There are no scientific definitions and norms of the scope of use in existing intervention measures.This paper finally forecast and prospect the trends of future's researches about learning difficulties.
