With the promotion of Chinese curriculum reformation,teaching of composition is paid more and more attention to and becomes much more scientific gradually.However,it still costs too much but gains too little, such as the unbalanced relationship between teachers and students; students'subjectivity pressed and replaced by teachers'subjectivity; the lack of students'autonomous activities and lack of creative ability. What's more,the cultivation of language expression ability is particularly concerned as well as the training of writing skills in the process of teaching composition. Thus,it is very significant to instruct an open,autonomic and practical"activity teaching of composition".The study includes five chapters,as following:The first chapter is the part of introduction.It mainly introduces the background of activity teaching of composition,the present studies about it and its meanings. The essay employs those methods of qualitative research, including literature research, interview, analysis of cases and action research.The second chapter tells the main rationale which are the theory of activity teaching,the theory of Multiple Intelligence and the theory of three conversion of writing.They are expressed with the composition teaching practice in the primary school.The following three parts describes the three steps of preparing, implementing and assessing. A set of strategies of writing teaching are raised during the evaluation parts.The third chapter talks about students'original conditions,different mental characteristics in different stages and writing levels in order to select and design teaching activities better.The fourth section shows the strategies to carry out activity teaching of composition through teaching practice in the classroom.It consists of three stages,i.e. "taking part in the activities" "doing the writing" "correcting and communicating in the classroom". Based on the real cases, it concludes that how to instruct the teaching for teachers so as to confirm the three stages can be implemented practically.The fifth section introduces the strategies of evaluating the activity. It analyzes from two aspects:the person of writing and the text of exercises. It breaks the traditional evaluating model only emphasizing on the text, but to not the students.
