Through analyzing the examination of citizenship certificate of secondary schools in England, this research aims to summarize its evolution and the advantages and disadvantages. According to the reality of China mainland, the author attempts to give some hints for the future development of citizenship assessment of our country.The research methods which this paper adopted are listed below.1, The Comparative Method:There are two patterns, which are internal comparison and external comparison. The internal comparison is used to compare the 1048 series and the J series. The external comparison is used to compare the citizenship assessment between England and China mainland.2.,The Literature Research Method:Through reading and analyzing the collected literature in-depth, the author try to summarize the advantages and disadvantages.3. Data Analysis Method:Through analyzing the examination data from June 2003 to June 2010,the author attempts to summarize the characteristics of the evolution and then get a more comprehensive understanding of this exam.4,The History Method:Through analyzing the history of GCSEs and citizenship education of secondary schools in England, the author attempt to grasp the information of citizenship studies certificate and citizenship education from s as many aspects as possible.This paper has seven parts. The sixth part aims to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the citizenship studies certificate and then in the seventh part attempt to propose some enlightenment according to the reality of our country. The inspirations to China are listed as below:diversify the evaluation targets, make the evaluation content connected to our daily life and so on.The innovation of this paper is that the research topic belongs to a completely new research field. The research content of this paper concerns the newly set J series citizenship studies certificate from September 2009.No one has researched this topic in our country by now. So, either from the research topic, or from the results of this paper, this research has certain innovations.
