The 17th national congress pointed out that education is the cornerstone of rejuvenation, and education equity is an important basis of social justice. Prime Minister Wen said:"Equity in education is the soul of universal education. If there is no equity in education opportunity, not to mention social fairness." With the construction of socialist harmonious society proposed, education equity has increasingly become the focus of academic research. Most scholars conducted their research into education equity from pedagogy, ethics and economics, law, sociology, but ignored the education fairness thought presented by Marx and Engels. China is a socialist country, so in solving problems about education fairness, we must resort to Marxism, the theoretical basis which guides us, to absorb the nutrition of Marxist education equity theory and to lay a strong foundation for theory and practice of education equity in china. As a student majoring in basic principles of Marxism, I attempt to discuss education equity in this paper from the perspective of Marxist education equity.As the source of education equity theory with Chinese characteristics, Marxist education equity plays a significant role in promoting education equity practice with Chinese characteristic. Under the guidance of Marxist education equity theory, scientifically analyzing education fairness under socialist market economy background is necessary for China's development, modernization, national prosperity and affluence, and the strategy of invigorating the country through science, technology and education, the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resource development as well. Based on the concept of fairness and education equity, this paper not only summarizes the classic theory about education equity proposed by the founder of Marxism, but also refines the times value of Marxist education equity theory by combining it with Chinese Marxist education equity with the aim to construct and practice educational theory with Chinese characteristics.
