Under the promotion of the policy of introducing science and technologyto rural areas, agricultural industrialization and construction of new country, the livelihood of the farmer is diversified. Farming is no longer the onlychoice of living. Farmers may become migrant works, trading dealers orstart their own tourism business or engaged in professional breeding, planting base of modern agriculture. The purpose of production is notself-sufficient but market oriental. It changes to commodity productionwhich is in orders to meet the needs of the market. Modern enterprisecooperation, which takes Share-holding system and agriculture guilds as itscore and'company +guild+famer+base'as its operating mode, is introducedinto the township enterprises. Such changes indicate that China's rurallivelihoods are in transition period. This thesis, based on the perspective ofrural livelihood transformation and by means of document analysis andparticipant observation, discusses the relationship between returning migrantworkers're-employment and rural livelihood transformation through thefield point study in Shifeng Village, Mashan County of Guangxi ZhuangAutonomous Region. Suggestions for better settling returning migrantworkers're-employment are also proposed in the thesis. Studies show thatmigrant workers who returned to their hometown mainly realizedre-employment through scale planting and breeding, local work engagementand doing business. The diversified ways of re-employment boost themodern transformation of livelihood in rural areas. Meanwhile, theapplication of capital, technology and social network accumulated when theyworked for others exerts inner influences on the rural livelihoodtransformation. On the other hand, the benign change in rural livelihoodprovides supports in terms of capital, technology and union for migrantworkers're-employment. Despite of these, one thing should be noticed:capital remains the most important factor retraining migrant workers from returning home and getting re-employed. Therefore, governments and thesociety should concentrate on and properly resolve this problem.
