In the process of social transformation, the population flow is becoming more and more frequently. The issue of rural left-behind children continues to highlight for the rural migration movements. Many scholars have investigated the real living conditions, education condition of rural left-behind children, and other related issues in recent years. Many research results are universal, which could resolve the disadvantaged situation of rural left-behind children effectively to a certain extent. The issue of urban left-behind children has been constantly exposed with the level of urbanization reached 46.6%, population reached 622 million in the urbanization process of China. However, the corresponding research is rarely involved. Children are the future of our nation in relating to the national quality and the future construction of a harmonious society. Nowadays, urban left-behind children has become the new social vulnerable groups. Therefore, the author carries out some empirical research in this field, which serves a modest spur to induce others to come forward with valuable contributions. The purpose of the thesis lies to search some possible solutions for the problems of urban left-behind children.The thought of this paper is as following. Firstly, the author collects document research on left-behind children, and analyzes the current research status. Secondly, the author analyses the custody status of left-behind children combined with empirical research on the left-behind children of Jingzhou city. At last, the paper proposes different methods from macro to micro level, looking forward to a long-term and short-term effective solution to the problem of urban left-behind children.This article is an empirical study. The part of questionnaire is as follows. There are 39 classes participated in the survey, about 2023 students in total, and the number of left-behind children is 371, which proportion is 18.34%. All these students take part in the research. Valid questionnaires are 369, and the effective rate reaches 99.46%. At the same time, the author chooses 5 typical custody cases as research model by interviewing teachers, parents, headmasters and urban left-behind children.The results are as fowling. In the family, family patterns have changed since one parent or both became migrant workers. Left-behind children are influenced in a degree for lacking of family education, which mainly reflects on academic performance, moral behavior, mental health, personal safety and so on. In the school, school education is out of line with the students'real lives. Pragmatism ideology has penetrated in the school and influenced the universal ethical principle orientation of students gradually. Teachers almost only concern on students'academic performance. The level of trust is very low between the teachers and children. Education behaviors seriously lag behind the educational ideals. School education has no corresponding measures for the group or individual left-behind children, and a series of educational resources on'Left'are not effectively integrated and so on.The issue of left-behind children is not only a question of families or schools, but also involves in government and social fields. Therefore, we must mobilize all social sectors, integrate various social resources in order to give common concern on the healthy growing of left-behind children for solving this problem. Micro-level things are most easily changed, so the author proposes some immediate strategies at school and family level. While at the macro level, the thesis puts forward some ideas to solve the problem of left-behind children completely in the future, which is that the government should reform the social welfare system and improve the child custody system.At last, this study includes the real first-hand information on urban left-behind children of Jingzhou City, so the thesis looks forward to provide raw data to other scholars, research institutions and the following researchers.
