In the beginning of the century, in promoting the new curriculum reform, the structure of high school Chinese curriculum is composed by the required courses and elective courses, the elective is designed of five series: poems and essays, novels and operas, news report and biography, the application of the language, and cultural works study. Several modules can be designed for each series, the school should follow curriculum objectives of each series, according to school curriculum resources and the needs of students, selected to design the module and set up optional. I select two sets of published elective Chinese textbooks in senior middle school as an entity, they are People Education Press and Jiangsu Education Publishing House. After a clear concept and function of teaching material, I reviewed the classical theory of teaching materials at home and abroad, based on this, I construct serious overall structure, details of the target system, typical examples of design, specific operating procedures, rich guidance materials and pleasant learning environment such as six basic principles or measures of Chinese teaching materials. In the six principles of reflection, I examine the problem in the current elective Chinese textbooks in senior middle school, that is they have problems in within the loose outside the tight of the overall structure, clarity and obscurity of goals tips, success and failure of sample design, lack of operating procedures, rich and lack of guidance materials, trying and lack of learning environment design and so on, and then I put forward eight opinions and suggestions of modify elective textbooks of Chinese lesson in Senior middle school. They are: elective teaching materials should be prepared according to curriculum standards, the relationship between required and elective materials should be handled properly, the structure to achieve elective teaching materials team "combination" should be adjusted, outstanding integrity to change the "no structure" phenomenon in the elective teaching, trying to achieve diversity of materials, changing the "many are" phenomenon of teaching materials, establishing a sense of process and method, strengthen the operational, changing the elective materials'"low effectiveness " phenomenon, creating a good learning atmosphere, changing the elective teaching's "no context" phenomenon and so on.
