Research On The Achievements Of Students In Grade 2000-2007 Majoring In Physical Education In Shenyang Sport University

With the rapid development of higher education and constant expansion of college scales, the higher education in China is stepping from the"Elite higher education"into the stage of"popularized higher education". The problems of teaching quality begin to emerge and then become hot issues touching people's heart after thousands of students stepping into colleges satisfactorily.The article takes the achievements of 2000-2007 grade students majoring in Physical education in Shenyang Sports University as the object of study. By means of documentary data method, statistics method, experts'consultation and interview method as well as logical approach, it analyzes students'achievements variations in all grades and difficulty variations in examinations of every course to get the quantitative data to attest some common problems discovered by supervisors and teachers in recent years. They are as follows: students are not enthusiastic about learning; academic scores gradually decline; the quality of education descends; students are not initiative about learning academic programs.It concludes that academic programs and technology lessons have close correlations based on the canonical correlation method. They should guard each other and promote each other. We can understand that how to guarantee education quality has become a major task in teaching and administration in institutes of higher learning with the rapid expansion of college scales. Countering the problem and the working experience, some suggestions are pointed out as follows:(1)Strengthen the building up of the ranks of teachers: to build up a team of teachers of fine political and professional quality, of rational and relatively stable structure is essential to guarantee higher education and improve education quality. Meanwhile, it is the basic goal of reformation and development of education.(2)Enhance the culture construction on campus: great efforts should be exerted to build a modern campus of beautiful natural environment, of harmonious relationships, of rich spirit and cultural atmosphere, of optimistic spirit of enterprise, and of rich science and art atmosphere.(3)Make full use of teaching resources and put emphasis on infrastructure construction.(4)Innovate conception of education and teaching management and intensify students'administration.(5)Deepen the reform of education and teaching administration.(6)Tighten up the construction of testing system; enhance the reliability and validity of testing; strictly enforce the examination discipline; reinforce integrity test education and realize the separation of teaching and testing.(7)Perfect system of instruction supervision.
