Physical education is an important part of family education. Junior school stage is a key period to decide the physique, physical fitness, mentality and intelligence in peoples life. Home is the important place to guarantee the transformation of individual. Therefore, Family, school and society should commonly undertake the task of nurturing qualified personal with the beginning of launch family physical education and making the consciousness of lifelong physical education into family.This research designed two kinds of questionnaires according to the purpose and content and adhere to the fundamental principal and requirements on the design of questionnaires in the sociology methods.This research chose two representative schools from every district and took out 50 Uyghur and Han students respectively with their family from each school as the objective according to the division of junior school district promulgated by Education Bureau of Urumqi in 2007.This research inquired the situation of sports participation of Uyghur and Han students and their parents and the development of family physical education, compared and analysed family life style, culture degree of parents, economic earings, sports attitude, sports conduct, sports motive, sports interest and the influence of sports value to the participation of students.Inclusion:1.The sports attitude of Uyghur students is better than Han students; There are obvious differences in choosing sport items between Uyghur and Han students; There is no clear difference in sports motive and the reason to take part in exercise; Uyghur and Han students neither know little about"keep-fit scientificly"and"Lifelong Physical Education", have no clear difference; The sports consumption is in low level, mainly in material objective, has no obvious difference. 2. Parents of Uyghur students like sports more than Han; There are many parents who have no sports experience; The way to know sports knowledge is single. 3.The situation of family physical education in the families of junior school students is not very good. Parents have little sports knowledge, and the consciousness to launch physical education is week. There is high identity on sports attitude, interest and motive in Uyghur and Han students and their parents. It is beneficial to launch family physical education. There are differences in the pattern of family physical education between Uyghur and Han students; The family life style has obvious influence on the sports participation of students; The income, sports attitude and sports value have to do with the situation of participation of junior students.Finally, how to rightly guide the development of family physical education? The education department should publicize family physical education through media such as TV, broadcast and internet; The structure of family physical education should be completed; The sports knowledge level of parents should be enhanced by holding training class and contest between parents of different nationality students; The scientific research on family physical education should be reinforced.
