Purpose:The study aims to certify the influences on the students'physic qualities and sports participations through sports homework assignments to offer experimental statistics for promoting sports homework.Methods:Under the employment of experiments,physical tests and questionnaires,the study chose 159 students(80 male students and 79 female students)from 4 classes(class1,class3,class5 and class7)in the 6th grade of Datong Senior Middle School in Huangpu District,Shanghai as the studying objects.The students were being splited into the experimental class and the control class.Under the same teaching contents,the students in the experimental class were given sports homework,while the students in the control class were not.After a semester,these 159 students were analyzed by physical qualities(400-meter run,50-meter run,slant chin-up,Sit-and-Reach,one-minute rope skipping)and sports participations by questionnaires.Results:Before the experiments,there were no significant physical differences(400-meter run,50-meter run,slant chin-up,Sit-and-Reach,one-minute rope skipping)between the students in the experimental class and the control class(P>0.05).After the one-semester sports homework assignments experiment,there were differences between the students in experimental class and the control class.In the 400-meter run test,on average,the time spent for girls in the experimental class was107.35s±11.55,it was decreased significantly by 2.05 seconds compared with that for girls in the control class(p<0.05).The time spent for boys in the experimental class was102.26s±15.63,it was decreased significantly by 3.80 seconds compared with that for boys in the control class(p<0.01).In the 50-meter run test,on average,the time spent for girls in the experimental class was9.08s±0.68,it was decreased significantly by 0.21 second compared with that for girls in the control class(p<0.05).The time spent for boys in the experimental class was 8.79s±0.95,it was decreased significantly by 0.33 second compared with that for boys in the control class(p<0.01).In the slant chin-up test,on average,the times for girls in the experimental class were 42.01±7.47,it were increased significantly by 5.24 of the figure compared with that for girls in the control class(p<0.01).The times for boys in the experimental class were 39.73±11.23,it were increased significantly by3.76 of the figure compared with that for boys in the control class(p<0.01).In the Sit-and Reach test,on average,the pushed length for girls in the experimental class was12.88cm±6.76,it was increased significantly by 2.14cm compared with that for girls in the control class(p<0.05).The pushed length for boys in the experimental class was8.51cm±7.40,it was increased significantly by 3.696cm compared with that for boys in the control class(p<0.01).In the one-minute rope skipping test,the times for girls in the experimental class were144.69±19.47,it were increased significantly by 11.93 of the figure compared with that for girls in the control class(p<0.05).The times for boys in the experimental class were 155.96±22.02,it was increased significantly by 11.38 of the figure compared with that for boys in the control class(p<0.01).According to the questionnaires sent to the students in experimental class and the control class,before the experiment,there were no significant differences in sports participations;after the experiment,the sports participations were increased by 17.5%in the experimental class compared that in the comparative class.The students in the experiment class also paid higher attention to sports subjects,which could emphasize that sports homework assignments could develop the initiatives of students in sports.Conclusions:(1).Sports homework assignments can develop senior high students'physical qualifications of endurance,speed,power,flexibility,and balance;(2).Sports homework assignments can promote students'sports initiatives;(3).It is recommended to promote sports homework assignments in senior high school sports class.Recommendations:(1)Optimize the behavior of front-line teachers,combine modern education informatization;(2)Optimize the homework system,combine textbooks and school-based programmes to create a characteristic homework chain.
