At the beginning of the 21 st century, our country has entered an aging society, and the size of the elderly population is increasing at a rapidly rate. The incidence of geriatric diseases also continues to climb, posing a serious threat to society.Compared to cities, rural areas are limited by geography and lag behind urban communities in terms of economic development level and imperfect medical and health conditions. The large size of the rural elderly population, the inadequacy of existing social support networks and the problem of "aging before the rich" are more prominent than in urban areas. Therefore,it is more urgent to strengthen the research related to long-term care for the disabled elderly in rural areas. This paper takes the disabled elderly in rural areas of H Town,Weifang City,Shandong Province as the research object, and collects and analyzes the situation and data of the disabled elderly in the village through field visits and surveys.Through the analysis of the survey data,it was found that the existing long-term care services in Village S were much different from the needs of the disabled elderly, and there was a significant difference between the needs of the semi-disabled elderly and the disabled elderly. This paper takes the degree of disability of the elderly as an entry point for the study.By selecting the elderly with disability, two elderly with disability were finally identified as the subjects of the case intervention, and according to the effect of social work intervention, the effect after social work intervention was more obvious than that without intervention, which further elaborates the necessity of social work intervention in long-term care services for the elderly with disability in rural areas.By summarizing the research on social work participation in long-term care services for the rural disabled elderly,it was determined that in the process of intervention, there are mainly problems such as little neighborhood interaction, single content of care, and social workers’ own ability to be improved, etc.Through the intervention of these two types of disabled elderly, the strategies of intervention in long-term care services for the rural disabled elderly were concluded, including promoting the construction of rule of law protection for the elderly;establishing and improving the community care support system;improving the family-neighborhood support system;improving the construction of talent teams to ensure the livelihood of family caregivers;and stimulating the vitality of social organizations to provide professional long-term care services.
