The great development of the society challenges the human spirit seriously. Thus a reasonable ecology cognition and system of education to be established is the focused issue in the education industry of the 21st century for the better discover}' of human being while we explore the world in order to achieve the harmony between the nature and the society.In terms of the theory of ecology, ecology of education is the science to study the interrelation of education and its eco-environment with its main purpose to establish an eco-environment suited to an ordinarily operated education system. Performing its "multiple dimensional mosaic", such an eco-environment includes natural eco-environment. social eco-environment and normative eco-environment. In this thesis, two important contents are discussed: the great effect of the cultural eco-environment of normative eco-environment to education and the dialectical relationship between the cultural eco-environment and education, which determine the inter-restriction, the coordinated development and the harmonious coexistence of the above two factorsAbove all, we will retrospect the eco-wisdom of the ancient Chinese in this thesis, for instance, Zhouyi takes the pursuit of harmony as its topic; As the mainstream of traditional culture. Confucianism advocates "the integrating of the objective world with human being". Though such an "integrating" of human being and the outside environment is the harmony based on the strict hierarchies, it doesn't deny the fact of the initiativeness and enthusiasm of human being. The spirit of enterprise can still be found in the golden mean of Confucianism, which also results in the understanding and the coordinating of each other and finally shapes the "general view of education" in the traditional Chinese education. Because of the harmonious traditional cultural eco-structure. human being can observe themselves to achieve the self-consonancy in their spirits, while they can also attend to united consonancy of the nature and themselves. Definitely, there are deficiencies in the traditional Chinese culture. More stress on integration and less on analysis in Chinese culture lead to the sweeping and monotonous curriculum setting, similar views of the talents and the short of creativity' of the talents. But the advancing ecological consciousness can treat the spiritual illness of the modernized human being and make up the miscarriage of Chinese education during the disordered transference of the later.Then the sight of the thesis moves to the modern society to discuss positive and negative effect that the powerful mass culture brings to the education. It holds the opinion that the technicality of mass culture promotes the communication of educational information, which can realize the "civil education", "whole-life education" and "long-range education" On the other hand, the superficial mass culture is not suited to the work of civilizing, criticizing and transcending. What is more, the massive reproduction of culture causes the absence of principal. It reduces human being to the pursuer and shadow of mass culture and means the absence of the personality of human being withthe degrading of personal spirit The powerful monopolization of mass culture is the cultural ecological crisis that causes the gradual submergence of cultural diversity and controls the development of human being, handicapping the process to consonancy of nature, society and human being.The conclusion of the thesis reminds readers that education is not a passive receptor of culture. It has its own active reaction to culture, which can realize its continuous reconstruction to culture through the educational practice and create a harmonious poetic world based on the significance of ecology.
