Life And Education——Envisioning Some Reforms In Educational System

Among the problems in educational system , the biggest one this thesis argues is that teaching process is separated from real animate life and is just referred to as a epistemic process .Therefore ,to understand educational facts and nature better ,to acquire a clearer insight into the educational system in modem times ,we have to begin our work with the point of the relationship between education and life. The main viewpoints in this thesis are as following: 1. Animate life is the starting point of education . Educational activities should base on the properties of life ,wbich characterize as time-limited ,unrestrainedly developing ,extraordinaiy ,etc. 2. The teaching process is the one in which the meaning gradually manifests and is brought into full play. Education aims at enhancing the situations of human from struggling for a living to that of being himself freely. 3. Educational formats are various , among which we should place emphasis on the non-planned and non-continuing .The non-planned format are marked in some areas that can抰 be planned ,and educational processes have to live room for students?thoughts ,intuition ,etc. The non-continuing format formulates that some unexpected accidents are critical in educational system. 4. Moral education should base on the inherent self love, and transform the narrow self love into pubic interests ,at the same time ,make students find the meaning of their lives. Education should lead life into integrity , harmony and infinity .Education is the exchange of lives. To put the theory into practice, several educational experiments have staged in home and abroad ,such as Appreciation Education ,Life Education in Taiwan Province ,and Death Education .This educational experiment set different subject matter ,curriculum in contrast with the traditional education. To sum up , education aware of life is the choice of our times . Though educational system is heavily burdened ,education is still the weapon to transform the world and society, not the instrument of society .lf only the values of life are stressed ,the meaning of life is respected and fulfilled ,can educational system accomplish the tasks our age puts forward...
