k~ Abstract The disputation about the nature and goal of the Chinese course has resulted in the slow down of the Chinese education in recent years. To settle this problem a guide must be found, which I deli eve is the thoughts of the positive education. So the first part of this thesis introduces the positive education. The subjective referees to the definition of the individual as he is studding and changing the world. It has three characteristics, namely: self梡romotive, self梐uthority, self梔eed. Its contents can be outlined as the mind of the individual, theabilityof the individual. It抯 thebasic characterof the individual. Some educational experts rave proposed the thoughts of positive education on the base of the subjective theory. Considering the cultivation of the ability and dignity of the student as its main contents. This theory is the basic guiding theory the education, especially the Chinese education. The second part looks into the nature of the traditional Chinese education with reference to the theory of subjective education, analysis its origin, including the history of the change of the Chinese Language research and the Chinese education under the influence of the scientism accepted from the western countries in the later 19th century ,. the definition of the nature of the Chinese education settled by some famous educationalist such as Yie Shentao, the interference of political straggles. The harm done by the tourism existing in the contents, the goal, the process, the inspection and the assessment of the Chinese education, also known as the lost of the human value of the course and the statement of the independency of the student, has also been ii 227 MASTER S THESIS discussed. Based on the thoughts of the subjective education, the third part discusses the nature of the Chinese education from three aspects: (l)From its contents, we can tell it is just language for daily conversation, representing men?s spirits and the understanding of the world as the experts and idealists in the western countries have said; (2)The highly development of science and economy bring many side梕ffecters including the lost of one?s belief, the deform of one s personality. So the personality and the rebuild of spirit are two factors should be considered when we try to define the nature of the Chinese education; (3)After considering the arrangement of the course in the middle school, I think only the Chinese education can Shoulder the responsibility of full cultivation task such as the literature education, the aesthetic education. While emphasizes on the human nature of the Chinese education, this thesis also stokes to the reasonable implication of the instrumentalism the Chinese education, considering it a appended characteristic cultivating the sense of the student as apposed to the humanity characteristic of the Chinese education cultivating the value sense of the student梩he human nature of the Chinese education. They build up the integrity of the student?s subjective.
