On Ye Shengtao's Educational Thoughts Of Chinese

Ye Shengtao, a most famous Chinese linguistic, educationalist, and most reputed scholar of the Chinese language of modem times, left us a lot of works in the research field. Noted for his profound and intensive educational thoughts, he pointed out that Chinese is a tool subject and held the view that the cultivating students?ability in using their mother language correctly is the purpose of teaching Chinese. in compiling Chinese textbooks, Mr Ye advocated the principle of being scientific. 1-Ic also had his unique interpretation and view on both the features of textbooks and the compilation of textbooks for primary schools and middle schools. Mr. Ye抯 theory, which had a great influence in the Chinese language teaching in the past, has a significant guidance in the teaching of present day and even in the future.
