Constructivism believes that study is a progress of construction on man抯 own initiative, which contains modification of concepts and reconstruction of knowledge. The author of this paper believes that the understanding of the study of Constructivism tallies with man抯 recognizing progress of mathematics, and to guide mathematics teaching with Constructivism meets with the demands of Qualified Education. Even since 1 980s, much importance has been attached to mathematic education guided by constructivism, resulting in reconsideration given to the teaching and learning of mathematics. In recent 20 years in particular, much of teaching reform of mathematics has been characteristic of constructivism, with some significant models explored. However, these teaching and learning models with some disadvantages fail to be used in different areas. The present author, in view of the models in Sanming prefecture, surveys the learning of mathematics of some senior high school students in one municipality and seven counties in Sanrning prefecture and gets to know existing problems in their learning in a comprehensive manner. The author points out that in an effort to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics, the teacher and the student alike should update their outlooks on mathematics, the teacher should update their outlooks on Mathematics Education and have a better understanding of the learning process. Finally, the author, based on surveys and analyses, guided by the theory of constructivism, designs on practical plane, a new mathematics teaching and learning model for the middle school and the mathematics teaching and learning model of 搕eam coordination of multimedia network technology?...
