Lightening" means lightening the overweight burden on students . The overweight burdens on students not only bend the students' bodies, but also burden the psychology of students'. And this may hamper the healthy growth of students' personality. Additionally, the overweight burdens may reverse the nature and the task of the basic education in our country. Therefore, the project of "lightening" can benefit the enforcement of quality education successfully. It can benefit the development of students' creative spirit and practical abillities. It can benefit the consolidation and improvment of the achievements in the nine-year compulsory education. So, the action of "lightening" is imperative.Recent investigations have revealed that the students of No. 3 Middle School are in a heavy burden. We should deeply realize that if we want to develop our school, we should carry out the reform completely to lighten the burden on students. But how and in which field shall we carry out this project? First, we teachers and students should have the same view on "lightening" : lightening the burden on students doesn't mean that students needn't study and take necessary exams. Students still have competitions in their studies. As teachers, we can't reduce the educational quality because of lightening Second, we have carried out a series of reform in school courses, teaching methodology and the administration of students. For example, we have set up a new school course system; we have carried out the new grading and processive teaching methodology. Students may have the chance to administer themselves as well. Additionally, we also strengthen the construction of Teachers' group to improve our tecahers' qualities. And at the same time, we have forged closer relations with students' parents because they can help us a lot with the project of "lightening".All the above has made us realize that if we want to make more achivements in "lightening", we must take the following five respects intoaccount: 1. improving the understanding of our education, swicthing our educational idea and changing our view on education are essential prerequisite to the project of "lightening". The central task of our education should be based on man but not on book knowledge. We should train more successors with professional ability and high quality, but not only a few high-score students. We should not only have new views on China's education, teaching quality and talent, but also should have correct outlooks on students. Of course, modern educational technology should be used in our teaching and management properly. 2. high-quality teachers are the key to solve the problem of the project of "lightening". As we all know, teachers are the executor of the project . Therefore, the success or failure of the project depends on the quality of teachers. The leaders of schools should try their best to improve the comprehensive quality of teachers. To attract more quality teachers to devote themselves into China's education, the Party and our governments must really improve the positions of teachers, the teachers' salaries and working conditions. 3. deepening the teaching reform based on school courses is a necessary and key link in the project of lightening the burden on students.
