This thesis concentrates both a systematic theoretical analysis and a practical exploration on the reform of fee bottom-level academic organizations in Chinese universities. Beginning with reviewing the evolutionary process and concluding it's inspiration, the writer analyses the principal features and missions of the bottom-level academic organizations in universities. Based on such a theoretical exploration, the author then tries to find out the obstacles confronting the bottom-level academic organizations in Chinese universities. And finally puts forward some reasonable choices to solve such problems and conducts an analysis on the reform and innovation of Chinese universities' bottom-level academic organizations. The major conclusions are as following:1. The bottom-level academic organizations in universities have a long history and always evolve with the development of society. Their evolution is deeply influenced by universities' scale expansion, role complexation, reforms of universities' administrative structures , the tendency of knowledge and disciplines development, and the culture and politics of each country etc.2. The bottom-level academic organizations in universities are usually unique and complicated organizations. Their technology is highly specific, their structure is loosely coupled, their power is sole, and the roles of their members are conflicting.3.The missions of the bottom-level academic organizations in universities are to cultivate the students, develop the discipline, promote the development of teachers and provide social services.4.The main problems of the bottom-level academic organizations in Chinese universities are the poor working conditions and the unsuitable management on the one hand, and the lack of activity on the other hand.5 A Reasonable choice for Chinese universities' bottom-level academic organizations to overcome such obstacles is to be learning organizations. Five principles proposed by Peter Senge provide important inspirations for the reform and innovation of Chinese universities' bottom-level academic organizations.
