The aim of this dissertation is to investigate and identify secondary and primary teachers' attitude towards implementing teacher evaluation system in Macao. Some of the findings of this research are: Teachers consider that moral standards and classroom techniques are the almost important elements of teacher evaluation. Teachers do not hold consistent view towards the methods of implementing teacher evaluation. Teachers consider the most important usage of teacher evaluation is to enhance the society's confidence in teachers and increase quality of instruction. Teachers prefer themselves and experienced peers as the principal evaluators. Teachers do not hold consistent views on whether teacher evaluation system should be established. Teachers extremely concern the fairness and objectivity of teacher evaluation system.In summary, significant background differences among secondary and primary teachers in Macao led to varied and complicated views towards teacher evaluation system.
