This paper based on theory and practice studied systematically effects of many-ball training on improvement of children's basic techniques at the primary stage of training from angles of training, pedagogy and psychology. Twenty four six to seven year-old children ( 12 boys and 12 girls ) in Huber regional sports school were taken as the subjects of study. More than seventy articles were consulted. Three surveys were conducted, and altogether there were 180 questionnaires, the rate of recovery of which was 75%, 78%, and 78.3% respectively. Interview was also employed. The interviewees were 20 famous coaches and athletes, 25 researchers, 31 experts and professors from sports institutes. The data eas processed by statistics of software spss6.0 FOR WINDOWS on Pentium 233. The results revealed that the numbers of shots of the experimental group were different from those of the contrast group. Many-ball training is better than single-ball training in that it can help improve technical movement pattern. From the angle of psychology, the training of sports technique is to make the movement automatic consciously by building rational movement pattern on the cortex of the brain. From the research of psychology and physiology, the stronger the stimulation is, the more easily the conditioned reflex can be built. The density and intensity of many-ball training exceed those of single-ball training, that's to say, the athletes can practice more in the same period of time, and they have a high level of excitability. So it's easier to build up solid movement pattern through many-ball training than single-ball training. The training of sports technique is free movement under the control of mental activity. Consciousness of movement and the idea it left in the brain are direct mental process to control all movements directly. In many-ball training, coaches can regulate the athletes' movement so as to set up proper idea and consciousness of movement quickly by simultaneous transmission of information in form of comments or clues. Many-ball training can form good psychological state. In the training, good psychological state is a crucial factor in mastering techniques. Children beginning therr basic training have a high level of excitability, and know little about the importance of madtering proper techniques, so they always concentrate on doingtheir best to shot to the other half of the table by ignoring the essentials of technique. Little by little, the movement becomes incorrect. However, many-ball training can make the athletes concentrate on the technique instead of the shots. In this way, the athletes can grasp the essentials of the technique rapidly. With the increase of practice and the set-up of proper movement pattern, the athletes can increase the rate of successful shots. Many-ball training can train the athletes' will power and build up their body. In many-ball training, the athletes' physical burden can reach the maximum, and it will last for 100 seconds. So they have to conquer the discomfort caused by many-ball training. So they have to conquer the discomfort caused by many-ball training. So many-ball training is recommended here for the early period of primary training.
