A Survey On College Students' Modernity Characteristics Of Hui, Weiwuer, Hasake Nationality

The systematic cross-cultural study investigates the modernity characteristics of minority college students and the relationship among Hui, Weiwuer and Hasakenationalities as well as nationality difference among the three variable of Hui, Weiwuer and Hasake Nationlities. 342 subjects and 10 interviewee. Take part inthe study. The instruments used in this study include college students' modernity questionnaire and interview synopsis of college students' modernity. Bothqualitative and quantitative methods are integrated into this study. The primary findings are follows:The modernity general characteristics of minority college students:1. All in all, minority college students who believe Islam regions show the higher modernity in attitude, behavior and viewpoint of value. More than 80 percent ofthem regard individual modernization as important way for their future development. And it indicates the degree of receiving education determine thedegree of the modernity.2. In belief, there is no difference between individual modernity that is reflected by minority college students who believe Islam in attitude, behavior, viewpoint ofvalue and personality characteristics of individual modernity are consistent with modernity characteristics in mainstream society. Simultaneously, The modemculture and nationality characteristics are significant.3. To Hui Nationality, The traditional characteristics which they represent attitude on the 18 relevant main topics, but there are no significance. The modernity andtradition are all represented in the personality characteristics of Hasake and weiwuer nationalities.4. On the basis of the descriptive statistics analysis findings, the college students' personality characteristics of Hui, Weiwuer and Hasake Nationalities are different,which shows in nationality, identity, time value and so on.5. Modernity is closely related to economy, religion culture and education. Minority individual modernity is fairly influenced by culture elements It possessesnot only generality of cross-culture but also specialties of national culture.Individual modernity is closed related to degree of receding education.6.
