The new century provides new chances for our educational reforms. The new curriculumn in senior high school follows the ideology of education: "three facings" with its purpose of improving the quality of education.The basic ideology of modern educational theory is : Urging the development of students' individual characters and fostering the consciousness and ability of creation by passing on the basic knowledge and principles. The new textbook includes this ideology not only in the structure but also in the content.The contents are as follows:Section 1 Elaboration the characteristics of the new textbook according to creation. The characteristics include: Strengthening the content of humane studies; proper arrangement of the structure; integration theory with practice; fostering the students' abilities. The new textbook synchronizes with the times, reflecting the educational ideology: centering on students' development.Section 2: The standing problems of the textbook are as follows:1) The imperfection of the cystem.2) The contradition of new content and old teachers.3) People's paying no attention to geography.Section 3: The possibilities of solving the problems. The countermeasures are as follows:1) Transforming the ideas of education thoroughly.2) Improving teachers' abilities.3) Forming new pattern.4) Making full use of modern equipment.5) Building perfect evaluation.
