A Study On Space Structure Of Population And Sustainable Development In Henan Province

As a brand-new theory,sustainable development has already incorporated each research of discipline including demographics. In recent years,about the study on population and sustainable development,researchers have always been overweighting the study on population growth and sustainable development while the study on population space structure and sustainable development was relatively less. On the basis of the document analysis,according to theories of geography,demographics and systematic theory,with methods of model and technology of Geography Information System,theory discussion and case analysis is given upon the problem. Taking Henan province as an example,on the basis of wholly grasping the population condition and the existing problem between population and sustainable development,the paper quantitatively analyzes the condition of space structure of population of Henan province from two aspects of time sequence and spatial divergence. And from main factors influencing the space structure of population of Henan province,the paper discusses the rationality of it.The first part is preface. On the basis of the document analysis,we propose that the study on space structure of population and sustainable development is equally important with the one on population growth and sustainable development. And the research thinking is given.The second part is theoretic basis. This part is the premised before theoretically analyzing space structure of regional population and sustainable development. Through the introduction of relative concept and theory,we propose two regional levels of this study:in the first level,we think region is a poly-regional system including society,economy,resource,environment,population and so onï¼›in the second level,it is aconcrete region. In this paper,we propose that administrative area is the basic area on studying sustainable development and carrying out the sustainable development strategy.The third part is a theory studying on space structure of regional population and sustainable development system. After making clear the status and function of population in regional sustainable development system,the theory analysis about space structure of regional population and sustainable development system is divided into four parts:space structure of population and resources sustainable development,space structure of population and economic sustainable development,space structure of population and social sustainable development,space structure of population and environmental sustainable development.The forth part is a case study. Using the census data of Henan province in 1982,1990,2000,we wholly grasp the population condition and the existing problem on population and sustainable development,and quantitatively analyze the condition of the space structure of population of Henan province from two aspects of time sequence and spatial divergence. Moreover,with methods of model and technology of Geography Information System,from main factors influencing the space structure of population of Henan province,we discuss the space structure rationality of population of Henan province. Finally,we conclude that the space structure rationality of population of Henan province is rational.The fifth part is conclusion.
