Today with the rapid development of science technique and economy, human has more and more material wealth. Meanwhile, the shorter working time and longer leisure time makes it possible for individuals to have substantial spirit world and rich living field in substance. It seems that the education for leisure is a new content of teaching in need of the individual free development in their leisure time.In our country's basic education, the problem is clear that the competence of passing the examinations has been emphasized. It has led to the unbalance of the individual's development that the knowledge is emphasized while the humanity care is ignored, the same happens between the job training and the living education. Now the secondary students have got more leisure time, who can be easily affected by the environment before they have ensured their philosophy, values and behavior canon. Therefore, it's under the necessity of initiating the education for leisure in the basic education, which fulfils both the social and individual requirements for education. The thesis probes the leisure life of today's secondary students and the education for leisure. It consists three parts.Part I The introduction, the arising of question and the definition of the basic concept. It represents the necessity and the urgency of the education for leisure. It also gives a detailed explanation of the important concepts: leisure, the education for leisure, leisure time education, expounding the meaning of freedom in leisure, formulating most of the important research results and background knowledge in history.Part II The leisure life of the secondary students and the problems. The thesis describes the situation of the students' leisure life, analyzing the problems in their leisure life and the causes made by the basic education with some figures and examples.Part III The aims, paradigms, methods and conditions of the education for leisure. The thesis gives a junior study to the aims, paradigms, principles and the conditions, methods in carrying out the education for leisure, including the social conditions, the schooling conditions, and the family conditions.
