Since the end of last century China's higher vocational education has been experiencing a rapid development, which did great contributions to realization of popularization of higher education in China. After China's entry into WTO our higher vocational education is facing lots of new opportunities and challenges. How to stand that increasing competition? It is the key note that this paper tries to explain. The first part of this paper is a general description of the basic intention and features of higher vocational education in China; also it analyzes the influences upon higher vocational education after China's entry into WTO. Then that, the paper makes a research on the developing characteristics of higher vocational education of some main countries in the world. It describes the experiences that we learn from the other countries about development of higher vocational education. Simultaneously the paper points out that we should put forward, under the background of educational internationalization, some measures concerning school-running. It also introduces that we must swift our educational thoughts, freshen our ideas, deepen reform, quicken development, borrow advanced experiences from foreign countries and combine it with our national circumstances, eventually, try hard to make our higher vocational education specific in the world educational circle.
