The slogan Problem Solving was put forward by the American Teachers Union in the fourth International Mathematics Education Conference, It caused intense influnence all over the world since it arose .since then, educational researchers at home and abroad have been exploring and researching constantly in this field. Thetrfore, they have made plent of valuable achievements .In accordance with the present situation of mathematics teaching in Chinese middle schools, .Based on the former achievements and combined with the author's own thought and teaching experience, this article is intended to probe a teaching approach which meet the needs in the new situation-Problem -Solving Teaching Approach.Firstly, the article gives a brief account of the issues related to the approach. Then, according to the current situation of mathematics teaching, it advances four principle of the approach (the principle of simplifying forms and emphasizing practical results; the principle of creating settings and studying initiatively; the principle of stressing the process and encouraging the exploring ;the principle of connecting with the reality and stressing the practice ).Next, according to these teaching principles, it designs the class teaching frame of the approach, as follows: creating the right settings of the problems-Presenting the basical teaching problems-Solving the basical teaching problems-Demonsting the examples -Feedback and evaluation. Finally, it confirms through teaching practice that the approach is more advanced than the traditional methods, it can encourage the activity and initativity of the students to study cultivate the awareness of the students to apply and create in study and develop the ability of the students to analyse and solve the problems.
