On the present situation in play teaching, this thesis aimed at promoting the students' socialization by paying attention to the Sociality of those Contradictions in play, taking it as an important content in play teaching, which should fully display the social background of the play, so as to trigger the deeply thinking to the society.Chapter 1 Every contradiction happened in the play has its root in that society. Taking The Merchant of Venice as an instance, this essay interprets contradictions in it from the view of sociality in the following aspects: the classification and analysis to the contradictions, the sociality of the conflicts and the internal relations between them. The conflicts in this play embody the characteristics of the marriage, friendship and romance, the usury capital and the merchant capital, Christianity and Jewish, sex. The root of the conflicts, which are tangled with each other, lies in the conflicts between usury capital and merchant capital. The author of this play demonstrated the full-scale background of these contradictions in England within the 17th century and portrayed the progress and the limitation performed by the thought of humanism, which was the main stream of thought at that time, showing the varieties and the integration of the contradictions ' by arranging the confrontations and the deepening of these conflicts. As a result, the play teaching should embody the characteristics of the style of play, highlight the conflicts from the aspect of sociality, which is also the demand of art form of the play.Chapter 2 Based on the first Chapter, this part put forward to the internal relationships between sociality contradictions and humanism's cultivation, authentic cultivation, moral doctrines, with the principle that combining the playwright with teaching theories, taking The merchant of Vines as an example again. In this way,the students realize the significance of the play to the society, built up their sense of authentic to the whole society, enable themselves to develop their sense of moral doctrines through learning the conflicts which are enforced in the work of play while deprived in other forms of literature, The value of play teaching in its view of sociality stresses the shortcomings of the traditional ways of play teaching. Meanwhile, it can also provide enough proofs to the discussed teaching method.Chapter 3 This part deals with the selection, arrangement and the teaching process to those contradictions appeared in The Merchant of Vines as the following: a) appreciate the selected pieces of the play from the universal aspect; b) focusing on the nucleus of these conflicts, set up the sense of concluding the characteristics of the society and the thought of the writer; c) provide reasonable helps to the students; d) arrange the feasible researching activities.Above all, facing with the choice to the approaches of play teaching between the characteristics to the form of literature and the sociality confrontations, paying more attention to the later is very necessary and much feasible, which will certainly promote deepening of the research on the approaches of play teaching from its social aspect.
