Teacher is the key to school education. Teacher's personality and psychological health have some direct or indirect influence on the students' psychology and action and also play a significant role in the success or failure of his own career. Therefore, we shouldn't neglect this profound and imperceptible influence and should also realize that teacher's personality and psychological health are even more important than his major and teaching method. The thesis begins with the trend of the study of teacher's psychological problems home and abroad and then analyzes the significance of the study of teacher's psychological pressure. The significance lies in the reform of our educational system, especially the further reform of the internal administrative system of the colleges and universities; in improving the quality of education, strengthening teacher's psychological endurance and immunity capacity; and in cultivating psychologically healthy students. The thesis has also pointed out teacher's present psychological pressure relating to the psychological illness, irrational reactions, inferior health, worry, depression, pressure of work, life and relations with others. Further consideration has been given to the various factors that lead to psychological pressure. The factors considered are as follows: administrative system and allocation system, supervision of education quality, teacher's lack of adaptability to the reform, speciality of the profession, poor income and the misfortune of family life, obsolescence of knowledge and skills and the lack of new ones, clash of progress and frustration, conflict of competition and depression, long negligence of various demands, clash of teacher's many-sidedroles, lack of ability to regulate pressure and the channel to release pressure. Final discussion has gone to the ways of lessening teacher's pressure. The first is to strengthen ideological education, help establish a correct outlook on the world and life. Second, reform the education in normal universities, supervise teacher's qualification. Third, create a more favorable environment and seek more social help. Fourth, learn how to regulate one's feelings and keep a psychological balance. The thesis concludes that during one's lifetime there are success and failure, smoothness and difficult, joy and pain; that teachers should have a correct viewpoint on education and not only understand their ego-self and try to improve, but also know others' merits, and hence establish a harmonious relation with the people around, work hard, smile at life.
