Mao Zedong's education theory is a summary of group wisdom of the Chinese Communist party and a scientific conclusion of the ideological education legacy of the Chinese Nation. Deng Xiaoping's education theory is the inheritance and development of Mao Zedong's education theory. They have same or similar standpoint of the education. Mainly expressed on: they both pay highly attention on the great impact on the education to the improvement and prosperity of the nation; they are both aware that the ideological and political work is on the important position during the course of training the successor of the communist party; they both advocate the innovation of the education system and teaching method; they both advocate to strengthen the international exchange and cooperation in education; both advocate to ' respect the teacher and intellectuals; both advocate the student must get all-round development in their education career; both advocate the education should have to connected with the production labor, economic construction and the social requirement of the talent.At the same time, they keep their own characteristics because there are also some difference between their opinion and theory for the different times background, personal experience and knowledge configuration. Regarding the status and function, Mao puts more focus on the social and political significance, that is the humanitiesvalue, but Deng's particular stress on the economic and technological significance of the education; regarding the combination of the education and the labor, Mao considers more politically while Deng just emphasises the combination of the education and labor through the adaptation of the education with the requirement of the country economic development; Mao's requirement to the ideological moral building is over-idealization while Deng admit the rational practical benefit and the system safeguard; on the foreign exchange and communication, Mao emphasises to rely on local strength, but Deng prefers importation and innovation; For education reform, Mao's consideration most on popularization of the education, combine theory with practice, boost the studying interest and the go-aheadism. And Deng just plan education reform as a whole into the general design of open and reform system and the socialist construction.The relationship between Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping's educational theory carry on the past heritage and open up the future, compatible of each other and dialectical unity. Their educational theory have vital guiding significance to the innovation and development of the present Chinese education.
