As mentioned in the compendium of fundamental education course reform: to change the situation that students study passively and learn depending on memorizing and exercising mechanically, encourage the students to participate on their own initiative, investigate and experiment willingly, train them to have the ability of collecting and processing information, the ability of gaining new knowledge, the ability of analyzing and solving the problems and the ability of communicating and cooperating with other people. It is reflected as a new concept in the chemistry course standard that we should give the students more chances to learn through experience, let them have the correct attitude and way facing the knowledge when it is formed and used, let them have the consciousness and ability of lifelong-study through the experiment step by step.To learn through experiment mainly means that to let the students have the opportunity to experience the process of investigating scientific problems personally according to their age, cognitive demands and rational exploring way. Let the students to enjoy, gain basic scientific knowledge and have the preliminary ability of exploring rationally when they observe, question, assume, do experiments, express and communicate. After this, the students can prove their self-cultivations of scientific knowledge. It is very different from the normal and old teaching-way that students learn after teachers' teaching. It encourages the students to experience the process of investigating scientific problems personally, gain the experiences, get the way of solving scientific problems and then form scientific habits, have scientific attitude and conceptions.According to the characteristic of new teaching material and the reform of chemistry experiment teaching, I think it is necessary to recognize and experience itin a new way.First, we should know the present conditions of the chemistry experiment teaching, recognize its position and importance. Second, let the teacher understand its new function better. Then, the teacher should know its contents and the way of choosing it. Finally, combining present teaching with practice, I analyze the major styles of chemistry experiment teaching in middle schools and get the tendency of its development.
