The Investigation And Proceeding Of Senior High Students' Consciousness Of The Application Of Mathematics And The Experiment Research Of The Consciousness Education Of The Application Of Mathematics

With the development of modern science and technology and the advance of the society, mathematics is more and more widely applied and needed. So moreand more attention has been paid to the development of students' ability to apply mathematics in the reform of mathematics education at home and abroad in recent years. However,students' ability to apply mathematics has not been laid enough stress on or even ignored in the course of middle school mathematics teaching though firm foundation have been laid in mathematics knowledge. As a result, students are weak in applying mathematics.In this thesis, the author has made some surveys about senior school students' consciousness of the application of mathematics as well as their application cases in the light of teaching. The author has also done some experiment researches on how to improve students' ability in the application of mathematics and their consciousness of the application of mathematics. Furthermore, the author has probed into some theoretical problems under the guidance of such theories as problem solving, mathematics modeling and research study.This thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part, the author introduces the development of the application of mathematics, expresses her understanding of the application of mathematics, does some researches on theories and statesthe graduation and meaning of the application of mathematics. The second part is the main part of the thesis. In this part, the author has made a series of investigations about such subjects as the application problems existing in the text-books and in the college entrance examinations, the students' loving degree of the application of mathematics and the students' consciousness of the application of mathematics. And in the third part, some experiment researches have been carried out on how to cultivate middle school students' consciousness4 ?and develop their ability in applying mathematics. The author also expounds her own point of view on the subject.On the whole, all the experiments and researches in the thesis show that we should emphasize the application of mathematics in teaching senior school students and students' ability in applying mathematics and their consciousness of the application of mathematics can be raised if we teachers take effective measures which support the current text-books.
