Many countries worldwide have made great reforms in their national educational systems to meet the future needs since the late 1980s. Concerning elementary education, almost all the reforms focused on enabling the youth to possess the abilities to explore actively, to analyze and solve problems, and so on. The traditional teaching methods can't be adequate to cultivate those abilities. We have to look for and create new course forms and study methods. Thus a teaching method called project learning came into being. This thesis elaborates on the application of e-learning in project learning of senior high school math from six perspectives.Firstly, it describes the connotations, characteristics of project learning and its values in teaching. Compared with traditional methods, project learning is characterized by independency, practicality and exploratoriness. It makes the math teaching break through the traditional spatial and temporal limits, enabling math to blend with knowledge of other courses and making the definite and indefinite content in teaching to combine together effectively. This is beneficial not only to developing the initiatives but also to cultivating creative capability.Secondly, it states the project learning of math demands modern educational technology to display its features and to give full play to its advantages.Thirdly, it briefly introduces a completely new form of teaching and studying activity, e-learning. This new method makes full use of the new study environment provided by modern technology. This environment can support creative communicative mechanisms and rich resources. This environment can support creation of real situations. It makes the resources sharing not limited by temporal and temporal factors and information acquisition easily accessible. This will greatly benefit creative findings and explorations of the students on their own, and thus provide necessary support for exploratory study.Fourthly, it touches on the theoretical background and analysis of its advantages after employing this method. After comparing the teaching desip of traditional CAI and that of e-learning, it states the teaching design of e-learning is more applicable to project learning of math.Fifthly, it lists out the two teaching modes employing e-leaming in project learning ofsenior high school math, namely," resourcesutilization-theme exploration-cooperation "mode and "ituation- exploration" mode. Examples are supplied for each of them. It analyses the advantages and problems of applying e-learning in exploratory study of senior high school math. It offers some suggestions on better applications of e-learning in later project learning of senior high school math.
