Higher vocational education is the result of economic development and social progress. The aim of which is to cultivate senior applicable talents, who can meet requirements of production, construction, management and service of the society. Higher vocational education plays an important role in whole higher education system in China. Therefore, how to develop its own characteristic, how to insure and heighten its teaching quality has been an increasingly focus. People working in educational field pay attention to the teaching quality assessment in higher vocational education.From the data, there are just few researches about the teaching quality assessment in higher vocational education. Although, the Ministry of Education has ever organized some activities to assess the condition of running a higher vocational college, the construction of a practical teaching base and related majors, it still lack of an assessment system guidelines and projects about higher vocational education which is commonly accepted by the society. In addition, when we refer to and analyze some successful experiences related to higher vocational education in western countries and general higher education in China, we also have to consider the difference between them. Then, we introduce and summarize concepts on teaching quality assessment in higher vocational education, including the evaluation characteristics, principles and the major content. Based on the comparison with teaching quality assessment system in general higher education, we conclude and construct a teaching quality assessment system in vocational higher education, which enrich its theory system and guide its practical teaching.This paper is described from four perspectives. In Chapter One, it analyzes the background and researchable significance about teaching quality assessment in higher vocational education, and introduces some researchable ways. In Chapter Two, some concepts on teaching quality assessment in higher vocational education are introduced and summarized. In Chapter Three, it analyzes fourmajor content with relation to the assessment of teaching quality in higher vocational education. In Chapter Four, we construct the teaching quality assessment system in higher vocation education according to the analysis of characteristics of higher vocational education and the comparison with general teaching quality assessment system. In final Chapter, the author gets a brief conclusion about this research and makes a prospect for the development on teaching quality assessment in higher vocational education in the future.
