The course reform in the whole world is on the up and our country is not out of exception either. While the course reform is cored with the reform of the teaching material. This article focuses on the two junior chemistry editions of 1995 and 2001 (both are editions of the People Education Publishing House) and taking the design of teaching material as its underground, it tries to do some all-out quantitative and qualitative analysis about the syllabus and course standard, the selection of the teaching contents, the way of the organization of the teaching material, the title of the contents, the design of the layout, and the experiments and exercises, as well as the differences between these two editions of the Shanghai Education Publishing House and the People Education Publishing House. Therefore this article has summed up the disadvantage of the old edition and the advantage of the new edition of 2001 to explore the rich intention and the developing trend of the current junior chemistry new teaching material. So it can provide some reference to the further perfection of the new teaching material and all the teachers' better understanding of the new material and its course standard as well as the transformation of the teachers' teaching ideas to completely take practical chemistry course target.
