Research On Researchful Learning

Researchful learning is a kind of learning activities, which means that the students inquire independently in learning. Guided by teachers, students select a certain research special subject in their school and daily life and obtain knowledge, experience and the way of solving problems by using the similar way of inquiring. Thus give the students positive experience of participating and researching. Now the theoretical system of researchful learning is almost accomplished, but few people researches on developing the local curriculum resource for researchful learning.Wuhai area locates in the west of Inner Mongolia that is close to Ningxia. This area has abundant mineral resources but it is slowly developing. The native resident use coal as the main energy and this cause that the atmosphere is polluted seriously by smoke and dust. The environment problem is always highly focused in the region. We develop the local curriculum resource actively and take the smoke and dust problem in Wuhai as our project for the students to inquire. Our inquiring procedure is divided into four steps: select project, perform project and sum up. We let the students develop researchful learningby performing a project named "Blue Sky Project--an investigation on thepollution of smoke and dust in Wuhai"We permeate the idea of STS education in physics teaching by using the local curriculum resource in researchful learning and enhance the students' ability of solving problems. Students learn to cooperate and share with others,foster scientific attitude and spirit and have more responsibilities on society through learning. They care more about the environment than before and try to use the knowledge comprehensively. I hope my work can give some help and reveal to the physics teachers who are trying to develop researchful learning with local characteristic in our area.
