Computer Assisted Language Learning(CALL)means using computers as a tool to assist the teachers in language teaching. Michael Levy (1997) gave it a definition: "the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning."The increasing use of computers in the learning-teaching process makes possible the modern teaching techniques of student-centered, learning-centered and task-centered. The rapid development of computer technology also promises to revolutionize conventional teaching methodologies and the use of CALL, in particular, enables language teaching to be progressive, versatile and responsive to individual learning needs.CALL has expanded a great deal in the past ten years, with more computers and software becoming available and more schools making use of computers, it is proposed by many researchers in this are that the CALL is one of the most important ways to concentrate the power of the technology on cultivating the students' potential to become more effective and independent readers. However, despite these advances of CALL, the impact of computers on teaching of reading in Secondary Vocational School has been minimal nowadays, in view of this, it is time to better understand what CALL is, study its effectiveness and feasibility in application of English Reading in Secondary Vocational School.
